DAAS, the Client, has been providing support for various types of high-altitude work to major technology companies and general contractors of energy facilities and other industrial facilities for nearly 20 years.
The company recognized that there is a lack of dedicated solutions in the construction market that connect employers with the right workers. Most recruitment portals are not adapted to the specific needs of the industry, making the process of finding suitable job offers difficult. The client needed an intuitive, secure, and reliable solution to fill this gap in the market.
The project involved analysis, UX/UI design, web and mobile application development, as well as testing. It was completed in 3 months using the no-code platform - Bubble.
The previously implemented RATapp fully met the client's expectations, so they decided to base the functionality of the new platform on it, targeting a different group of users. Our task was to modify the existing solutions and adapt them to the construction industry specialists.
Due to the large number of interconnected functionalities, before adapting them to the new version of the application, it was necessary to thoroughly analyze the cause-and-effect process and redefine the user flows.
Before implementing each subsequent functionality or update, we validated the logic of the presented solutions using user flow diagrams, meticulously analyzing their impact on the existing solutions.
Challenges: clear presentation of a large number of orders and their details, development of the application logo.
The graphic design was a slightly modified version of the RATapp application interface. We used a palette of three main colors: orange, white, and red, which are associated with the construction industry. To break the raw and minimalist UI design and ensure optimal readability in any conditions and on any device, we chose the sans-serif font Montserrat, commonly used in various digital products.
To save time, after confirming the assumptions with the client, we prepared high-fidelity designs only for sections and elements that differed in structure and functionality from the RATapp application.
Our team was also responsible for creating the application logo and actively participated in the process of naming the application.
Based on the original version of the application and consultations with the client, our developers built a responsive desktop version of the application and a mobile application.
To quickly validate the concept and functionality of the application and increase its accessibility among rope access technicians while keeping production costs low, we built the RATapp mobile application as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
The PWA solution facilitates adapting the digital product for mobile devices without the need to develop multiple native applications for different operating systems.
The biggest challenge during development was effectively modifying the functioning of the existing application while considering the relationships between individual functionalities.
The project was entirely implemented on the Bubble platform.
To fully personalize the user experience of the application, all system-generated messages are sent through the Sendgrid platform.
Before being presented to the client, each implemented functionality underwent meticulous testing in the QA department.
The BESTbuilders application was created based on the previously implemented RATapp application, connecting rope access technicians with companies that carry out high-altitude work and are looking for qualified specialists. More about the RATapp application can be found here.
The main project management tool used was ClickUp, supported by email communication and weekly status meetings. To ensure full transparency regarding project progress, all data, tasks, internal and external agreements were made available to the client for review throughout the project.
When validating ideas, both time and effectiveness matter. The no-code approach allowed us to quickly adapt existing solutions to new needs, enabling us to respond to the requirements of a completely different user group much faster than building an application from scratch using traditional methods.
The team eagerly shared their knowledge, experience, and the communication was pure joy.
