Most of the job boards focus on career positions while ignoring the gig economy and other blue-collar positions like bartenders, construction workers or drivers. There are very few technical solutions focused on filling this gap especially in the service industry where turnover is high. The client wanted a fast, safe and reliable solution to connect employers with relevant applicants.
Basing on the Bubble.io platform we developed a job board tailored for the gig economy and blues-collar positions market. The Melonseed’s "Lightning Hire" feature allows job seekers to specify which positions they are qualified for and how quickly they can start. The app also leverages mobile native features such as push notifications, geo-location and a google maps integration managing to answer both employers’ and job seekers’ needs simultaneously. The application has already gained interest from state agencies where unemployment is high such as Louisiana, where the application is being tested as part of a pilot program for solving unemployment problems.
